Student Studies in the Library
Student in center of the frame holds a pencil against their head as they read in a book. There are piles of books surrounding them on the table in the front of the image. Behind the student, there are the book shelves filled with books out of focus. -
Sundial Class Gift
The sundial is located outside of the Werner University Center by the main entrance on the east side of the building. A gift from the class of 1984, the sundial reads "Grow old along with me the best is yet to be." -
John E. Murphy Urn and Plaque
Located on the east lawn in front of Todd Hall, this urn was dedicated to Reverent John E. Murphy. Reverend Murphy was one of the cofounders of Christian College and the first minister of the Frist Christian Church of Monmouth. -
Snowy Bridge and the Administration Building
Photograph shows the snow covered bridge located in front of the Natural Science Building. Three people walk across the bridge towards the sidewalk on Monmouth Ave. On one side of the bridge is a small tree covered in snow, and in the background is the Administration Building.

Student dressed in ghost costume chases after another student who poses and screams at the camera. From the Grove yearbook, 1979, page 24. -
Two Students Study in Classroom
Two students sit back to back as they study at separate desks in front of a window. The student on the left reads a newspaper. Through the window, there is the south end of the Administration Building. Because of this, it seems as though the classroom is in Bellamy Hall, although there is no other details noted in the photograph besides the desks, the window, and the students. Date is unknown. -

Jessica Todd Stands in the Cottage
Dean of Women, Jessica Todd, stands in the covered porch of the Senior Cottage in the center of the photograph. In front of her is a garden box filled with plants, and behind her is the door to the inside of the building. -

Photograph shows the tennis courts on campus. In the left side of the photo, a female student jumps in the air holding her tennis racket high to hit a ball. Another female student stands with her back to the camera on the other side of the net in the right foreground of the photograph. A third female student stands further back on the tennis court on the right side of the image. In the background of the photo, pictured is the Smoke Stack, Maple Hall, and Todd Hall. -
Kurt Singletary Memorial Tree
This Red Flowering Dogwood tree is located on the west side of Valsetz Dining Hall in memory of Kurt Singletary who worked at the dining hall. The plaque reads "In memory of Kurt E. Singletary. A caring friend who made us smile. Dedicated by Valsetz Dining Hall students and co-workers, 2001." -
Somei-Yoshino Cherry Tree
Located on the south lawn of University Park Conference Center unit C, this tree was planted in 1992 by Kimihiro Fujimaki. The Somei-Yoshino Cherry tree is native to Japan and was donated to Western Oregon State College in memory of the Research and Educational Exchange between WOSC and Saitama University. -
Reece Aaron Ritz Memorial Tree and Plaque
Located on the practice football field, McArthur Field, this tree was planted in memory of Reece Aaron Ritz (1975-1997). Reece was a Criminal Justice major and an athlete. -
Raywood Ash Tree
This tree is located on the southeast corner of Heritage Hall. The date of planting is unknown. It was thought to have been planted by the Oregon Public Safety Academy Class 209, but it was purchased with collaboration of the Student Body President. The tree was planted as a replacement tree for one of the original Raywood Ash Trees planted when Heritage Hall was landscaped.
Ron Cooper, former landscape supervisor, contributed the following information: "The memorial 'Raywood Ash' is the second tree from the right; just next to the Incense Cedar on the far right. It is the smaller tree because it was a replacement tree for one of the original 'Raywood Ash' trees planted when Heritage Hall was landscaped. It replaced a tree that went down in a previous storm." -
James Monroe Powell Plaque
This marble plaque was originally placed outside of Campbell Hall and is now located on the north wall of the south stairwell in Bellamy Hall. James Monroe Powell A.M. (1855-1901) taught math and physics. -
