Dr. Montana Hopkins Richards Walking Bull Memorial Tree and Plaque
Dr. Montana Hopkins Richards Walking Bull was a humanities professor from 1963-1978, and she was a member of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. A nationally recognized scholar and author, she passed away at the age of 74.
The plaque reads "In memory of Dr. Montana H. R. Walking Bull 1913-1987 Teacher Author Friend '...Like the sacred eagle my spirit roams on this sacred mother earth.'"
This memorial sequoia tree is located in the Grove near the New Physical Education Building. -

The on-campus tennis courts, which are located across from the football stadium and next to Maple Hall, taken in the 1970s. These courts were dedicated to the ONS men who enlisted in World War I in May 6,1925.
